Meet Jakerion Ales

Founder of TrueBalance Financial & Enrolled Agent (EA)

For a decade, I built my career in the trenches of corporate and private accounting. It’s where I developed my financial foundation and learned exactly how the numbers work at the highest levels.

But it’s also where I realized the industry had a huge blind spot.

In the corporate world, the focus was so heavily placed on the money that organizations completely forgot about the human capital fueling their success. Later, when I transitioned into public accounting, I saw a different kind of problem: it was a metric-driven machine.

The entire culture was built around the fast-paced pressure to just "get work out the door." Month after month, I found myself sending out generic financial statements and immediately moving on to the next file. There was no time to actually sit with the business owners.

It left me starving to do more. I wanted to sit down with clients, walk them through exactly what those numbers meant, and show them how to use that data to actually thrive. I realized that this was an opportunity for me to prioritize advisory over just churning out tax returns and financials.

That is how TrueBalance Financial was born.

The Expertise Behind the Advice

I am proud to hold an Enrolled Agent (EA) license.

While many people are familiar with CPAs, the EA is actually the highest credential awarded directly by the IRS. Earning it requires an elite and deep understanding of the federal tax code.

For my clients, this means I don't just "plug numbers into software." I provide deep, strategic, and federally recognized tax expertise designed to protect your business and keep your money where it belongs.

My Philosophy: No Judgment, High Accountability

My advising style is simple: Patient, but firm.

I know you didn't start your business to become a tax expert. If your books are a mess or you don't fully understand the tax code, I will never judge you or talk down to you. But I will hold you accountable for using the information once I give it to you.

For example, I frequently sit down with self-employed LLC owners who are unnecessarily bleeding money to self-employment taxes. I educate them on the liabilities, walk them through the hard math, and transition them to an S-Corp status when it’s the right fit. It requires a bit of tough love to break old habits taking money out whenever, but it saves them thousands of dollars a year.

Why I Do This

I look to help every individual and business owner that comes my way, but I specialize in helping professional service providers—like therapy clinics and consultants.

Recently, I had the privilege of helping a therapy clinic owner financially strategize to purchase her own building, allowing her to move much closer to her patients. When she sent me pictures of the new location, knowing that kids would soon be filling those halls and getting the care they needed—and knowing that my financial strategy helped make it a reality—that was everything to me.

That is what TrueBalance Financial is all about.

Outside the Spreadsheets

When I’m not helping my clients, you can usually find me spending time with my family.

I love sports and enjoy spending time outside, especially working in garden. I also love my black coffee. (if you ever need a recommendation, grab a bag from Portrait Coffee out of Atlanta—it’s amazing!).

But truthfully? Even in my downtime, I genuinely love studying tax and accounting strategies. I love this work, and I love watching my clients thrive because of it.
